Ambassador Dr. Imtiaz A. Kazi in response to the community’s longstanding desire for a 5-year long Residence Permit, sought a special and urgent meeting with the new Commissioner of the Bureau of Immigration Honourable Mr. Norman Tansingco in his office today (16 February 2023). He had a very useful meeting with the Commissioner and his team assisted by Atty. Mr. Arvin Santos, Chief Legal Division, and Ms. Mariaz Hazelin Pia B. Barroso, Senior Immigration Officer. Mr. Umed Ali Kalhoro, Consular Attaché assisted the Ambassador during the meeting. The Commissioner assured that the long-term RP issue would be resolved asap. Issues of some specific Pakistani detainees were also discussed for which the Commissioner of BOI extended very positive assurances.
