The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Manila marked Kashmir Solidarity Day at its Chancery to reaffirm Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) in their just struggle for the right to self-determination. The event was attended by a good number of members of the Pakistani community, including representatives of the Kashmiri diaspora.
The ceremony commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the National Anthem. Messages from the President, Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read out on the occasion. A special documentary was also screened, highlighting the plight of the Kashmiri people.
In her remarks, Ambassador Dr. Asima Rabbani underscored the significance of Kashmir Solidarity Day and reaffirmed Pakistan’s consistent position that the Jammu & Kashmir dispute must be resolved in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions and international law. She also briefed participants on the prevailing situation and grave human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJ&K), including restrictions on fundamental freedoms. The event concluded with a collective Dua for the people of Kashmir and Palestine for relief from occupation and lasting peace.
