Pakistan Ambassador Dr. Imtiaz A. Kazi held a meeting with Philippines’ Foreign Minister H.E. Mr. Enrique A. Manalo at Depatt of Foreign Affairs yesterday. Also present in the meeting was Hon. Senator Robinhood Padilla who has been constantly supportive to see Pakistanis married to Filipina nationals and residing in the Philippines get 5-year long Residence Permit. I am glad Hon. Fgn Minister endorsed this request favorably. The two sides also talked about the upcoming 75th anniversary of the establishment of Pak-Philippine diplomatic relations this year and programs to celebrate it in a befitting manner. Historic, cordial relations and bilateral political, trade, cultural, and climate-change-related cooperation matters also came up during the discussions. For already work-visa holding Filipina Household Workers’ ban for Pakistan has also been lifted now. For the newly recruited ones, both sides agreed to sign an MoU to formalize these arrangements and start the process soon.
