Dr.Imtiaz A. Kazi, a career diplomat from Pakistan Foreign Office, assumed his responsibilities as Ambassador of Pakistan to the Republic of Philippines in November 2020. Prior to this Dr.Kazi served as Ambassador of Pakistan to Kazakhstan from Aug 2018 to October 2020. Dr. Kazi served as Dir. General / Directing Staff at National Defence University, Islamabad (2017-2018) and prior to that as Dir. General (Policy Planning & Public Diplomacy) at Foreign Office, Islamabad (2015-17) . Dr. Kazi also served as Consul General of Pakistan at Frankfurt (2012-2015).

Ambassador Kazi holds degrees of M.B.B.S., LL.B., M.A., and M.I.P.P. (SAIS, Johns Hopkins Washington DC 1996).In his professional life at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he remained Section Officer ( 1991-1993 & 1997) and Director (Gulf Region- 2001-2002) and Director (Foreign Minister’s Office 2007 -2009). He remained on deputation with Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) Secretariat in Tehran in 1998-2000.His other overseas assignments include Second Secretary at Pak. Mission in Tehran (1994-1995), First Secretary at Paris (2002-2005), Counsellor at Doha (2005 – 2007), and Minister/Dy. High Commissioner in Kuala Lumpur (2009-2012).Served as Consul General at Frankfurt (2012-2015).Served as Ambassador to Kazakhstan since August 2018 to October 2020.Presently he is serving as Ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines since November 2020.He has translated Sufi poetry of Khayyam, Hafiz Shirazi, Bulleh Shah, and Shah Bhitai in versified English some of which has been published from Tehran and Islamabad.He is married.
